The interests of the community and of the environment have been
at the heart of our business since our foundation in 1760.
We are an independent organisation operating for the benefit of the
global community, re-investing our surpluses into improving our
services, public education and research and development.
As you might expect from an organisation so focused on safety
and education, we recognise that, just like any other international
organisation, our activities impact on the environment and on local
communities. For that reason we have developed a Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR) Policy at strategic level to ensure that we
conduct our business responsibly, in ways that respect ethical
values, benefit people and communities and protect the natural
environment.
This policy illustrates our commitment to ensuring that
economic, environmental and social issues and the requirements of
the communities we serve, are considered in our business
activities. Where possible and practicable, we aim to address our
economic, social and environmental impacts locally, nationally and
internationally.
As we develop in terms of CSR we will use our web site as one
means of communicating our performance to our
stakeholders.
