Role at Lloyd's Register
Alan is responsible for defining Marine strategy and ensuring
business plans will achieve our strategic objectives on a global
basis. His role is to oversee worldwide business development, the
production of products portfolio and the definition of commercial,
technical and marketing policy, giving direction for global
capability and performance.
CV
Alan became Marine Director in 2000. He joined Lloyd's Register
in 1974 and has held posts in UK and Japan. He is a Trustee
Director on the Board of Trustees of Lloyd's Register and is
non-Executive Chairman of LR Fairplay. He is Lloyd's Register's
representative on the Council of the International Association of
Classification Societies.
Qualifications
Alan is an Honours graduate from Strathclyde University in Naval
Architecture and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Naval
Architects and the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and
Technology.
