Role at Lloyd's Register

Alastair is a member of the Executive Management Team and the Board. He is responsible for all aspects of financial control and reporting within the Lloyd's Register Group, including global finance and accounting policies that form the basis of the Group's controls. Other finance-related areas that fall under Alastair's responsibility are pensions, taxation, treasury, internal audit and business systems. He is a Trustee Director on the Board of Trustees of Lloyd's Register and is non-Executive Director of LR Fairplay.

Alastair, who is a qualified Chartered Accountant, joined Lloyd's Register as Group Financial Controller in April 2007 and was appointed as Group Finance Director in April 2008. Previously he has held a number of senior financial management positions, most recently as Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary of Superscape Group plc, and prior to that he held similar roles at Easynet Group plc, Laporte plc, and NCR Corporation.

Qualifications
B.Com, CA. Alastair is a graduate in Business Studies & Accounting from Edinburgh University and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. He worked with Price Waterhouse, in both their Edinburgh and Brisbane offices, on a broad range of audit and corporate finance clients, covering a wide range of industries.

Personal background
Alastair is married with two children. His outside interests include golf, ski-ing and rugby, and he is a Director of Harewood Downs Golf Club.
