Lloyd's Register EMEA has an established position as a market
leader in the Oil & Gas Sector. We provide a wide range of
services to the offshore industry worldwide involving both design
verification and independent analysis activities in various
disciplines, including those of naval architecture, structural,
pipelines, mooring, foundations, safety and mechanical
engineering.
We are looking to recruit a suitably qualified engineer to take
a lead role in developing the pipeline consultancy business within
the pipeline team in Aberdeen. This team have substantial expertise
in the design and analysis of subsea and land pipelines. This
expertise includes high temperature - high pressure pipelines,
pipe-in-pipe systems, bundles, reeled pipelines, flexible
flowlines, dynamic flexible risers and riser caisson systems. We
undertake on-bottom stability, upheaval buckling, lateral buckling,
spanning, fitness for purpose and strain based assessments.
Non-linear finite element software (e.g. Abaqus and Oracflex) is
used to carry out advanced analyses.
You will:
• take a lead role in developing the pipeline consultancy
business
• lead the management and delivery of the pipeline consultancy
projects
• contribute towards the technology development of the pipeline
team
• supervise and mentor other engineers
• undertake pipeline analysis and review work.
Our requirements
You will need to have a proven track record in advanced pipeline
analysis, including non-linear finite element analysis. You will be
able to understand and interpret client requirements and sell our
services. Holding a good degree in engineering, it would be
desirable to have knowledge of flexible pipe behaviour, pipeline
operations and the installation of pipelines. In addition,
excellent communication and project management skills are essential
as are the ability to work to tight deadlines and adaptability.
There may also be a requirement to work in client or designers'
offices for temporary periods.
