First Multi-Utility Registration Scheme client is re-accredited
for a further three years
Morrison Utility Services is the first client to be re-appraised
under the new Multi-Utility Registration Scheme (MURS). It has now
received certificates accrediting it for a further three years to
do work under the electricity, gas and water utility registration
schemes operated by Lloyd's Register. This follows the change made
in April this year to give MURS status to utility connection
providers who are registered for all three schemes.
MURS provides benefits to both utility connection providers and to
the administration of the schemes. As the common elements of the
three utility schemes are covered in a single assessment it reduces
both assessor involvement and client support time. Morrison were
impressed with this aspect of the new scheme. Having now trialled
combined assessment with Morrison, integrated MURS audits will be
used when the accreditation of other multi-utility clients comes up
for renewal.
