Design appraisal

Engineering designs which have the potential to affect health, safety or the environment are normally required, often by legislation, to be appraised by an independent, competent person/organisation. Design appraisal may be required at any stage of an asset's life including: conceptual design, detailed design, commissioning, during operation or disposal.

A design appraisal can also be an independent review against the requirements of a code, standard or specification. This is most commonly associated with products such as a pressure vessel or medical device, but we can carry out a design appraisal on a wide variety of asset types.
