LRQA's new suite of training courses based on the
international standard, ISO 28000:2007-specification for security
management systems for the supply chain, had a successful launch in
November.
These training courses are aimed at organisations in the supply
chain sector who want to improve and enhance the security of their
supply chains.
One organisation to adopt the certification route is Southampton
Container Terminals Limited, part of the DP World group of
companies, who commissioned the two day ISO 28000 Internal Auditor
course to be delivered in-house in November 2007.
Delegates included representatives from two other DP World group
members, Tilbury Container Services Limited and DP World Antwerp
N.V.
The course was developed and delivered by Peter Pearce, who is one
of LRQA's ISO 28000 technical experts and assessors.
"Overall it was a very enjoyable and interactive learning
experience for the attendees and for me as the trainer" commented
Peter Pearce.
Feedback from the delegates included; Lynsey
Haynes, Marketing & Communications Manager, Southampton
Container Terminals (SCT),
said:
"I found the SMS Internal Auditors course an extremely
useful one that has helped improve my personal knowledge of
the ISO 28000 standard as well as giving
me the necessary auditing skills. With no previous auditing
training, I really was starting from scratch and I am pleased to
say that I have now successfully undertaken my first internal audit
for the company."
The full suite of training courses for ISO 28000:2007 are:
