Project Title
10MW Waste Heat Recovery based Captive Power Project based at
KSPL.
Country
India
Project description
The project activity is for the implementation of a captive
power plant with the installation of four waste heat recovery (WHR)
boilers at the tail end of 4 DRI Kilns of a new 400 TPD sponge iron
unit in Jharkand, India.
In parallel with a coal based 41 TPH AFBC boiler, these WHR
boilers will supply high pressure, high temperature steam to a 17MW
condensing turbo-generator. About 10MW of power is to be generated
by the waste heat recovery units which will displace an equivalent
amount of electricity, which would otherwise have to be purchased
from the state grid.
