Project Title
Biogas Generation at Kluang Oil Palm Processing Mill at Johor of
Malaysia
Country
Malaysia
Project description
The project involves avoidance of methane generation from
open lagoon palm oil mill effluent treatment by installation of a
methane capture system at current open lagoon. The methane capture
is used as a fuel to boiler steam generation. The steam is used at
the palm oil mill process and electricity generation. 5kw generator
will be installed. The project leads to displacement of grid
connected electricity and fossil fuel use at the steam
boiler.
Estimated average GHG emission reduction by avoidance of methane is
69,237tCO2 annually over 10 years fixed non renewable crediting
period.
