Project Title
Co-composting of Palm Oil Mill Waste at Keratong
Country
Malaysia
Project description
The project involves avoidance of methane generation from
waste empty fruit bunch (EFB) open landfill disposal and palm oil
mill effluent (POME) open lagoon treatment by proposed co
composting process. A composting facility will be constructed. EFB
is shredded and composted with addition of identified microbe as a
catalyst. The POME is sprayed to provide moisture condition.
Estimated maximum GHG emission reduction by avoidance of methane
is 56,384tCO2 and minimum 9,431 tCO2 over 10 years fixed non
renewable crediting period. Average annual emission reduction is
50,645 tCO2.
