Project description

The purpose of the project activity is to recover and utilize the biogas emitted from the wastewater treatment facility as fuel to generate electricity displacing part of power purchased from North West Power Grid (NWPG), thus reducing methane emissions in the wastewater treatment and simultaneously avoiding CO2 emissions from the business-as-usual scenario electricity generation of those fossil fuel-fired power plants connected into NWPG.

The applied methodologies are Version 06 of AMS III H "Methane Recovery in Wastewater Treatment" and Version 12 of AMS I D "Grid connected renewable electricity generation".

The project is a amall scale project.

The crediting period is 10 years and starting date is 01/01/2008

Estimated annual average emission reduction is 54,746tCO2.
