Switch of Khabarovsk CHP-1 Plant from Coal to Fire Natural Gas

Description

The purpose of this proposed JI project is to switch the primary fuel of 19 boiler units in Khabarovsk CHP-1 from coal to natural gas. The cleaner fuel would improve the local environment and reduce GHG emissions as it is a lower carbon intensive energy source. The Khabarovsk region is an industrial center located in the Far East of the Russian Federation and Khabarovsk CHP-1 plant is one of the main heat and electricity supply sources of the region.
