Project description

Yunnan Huaguohe 7.5MW Hydroelectric Project is to utilize the hydrological resource in run-of-river scheme to generate zero carbon emission electricity for the South China Power Grid (SCPG). The Project will generate certified emission reductions (CERs) by displacing electricity generation from grid connected fossil fuel-fired power plants that would otherwise be generating electricity needed.
The total installed capacity of the Project is 7.5MW, including two run-of-river hydropower plants-Zhengba hydropower plant, and Muguashu hydropower plant with installed capacity of 5MW and 2.5MW respectively. It is estimated that an estimated annual power output of 33,536 MWh that will be delivered to the SCPG.The emission reduction resulted from the replacement of thermal power is expected to be 28,283tCO2e per year.

Renewable crediting period of 7 years first crediting period is chosen and expected starting date is 01/10/2008.
