ISO 22000
What is ISO 22000?
The standard which supports you in managing food safety.
What can ISO 22000 do for you?
- it helps you to manage food safety hazards and risks
- clients will be confident when they see that you have it.
Large food producers are especially keen on ISO 22000
- if you clients are confident, consumers and legislators will be
too.
- it has the same format as other standards,
including
ISO 9001 and
ISO
14001. So it's easy to integrate with the standards you're
using at the moment.
- ISO 22000 is recognised throughout the global food chain.
- at the moment lots of organisations need several food safety
standards. This means there's often overlap between the standards,
and you have to spend more time and money getting them. ISO 22000
is the tool to harmonise
all HACCP
based standards.
Who can use ISO 22000?
ISO 22000 is the first standard that all parts of the food
supply chain can use, from 'farm to fork'. This includes suppliers
of non-food products and services, like cleaning, equipment
manufacturers and transport companies. ISO 22000 is right for
you whether you're a small, medium or large-sized company; whether
you're a bakery with 10 employees, a packaging company, or an
international food manufacturer or supermarket.
How can LRQA help?
We can assess whether you meet the criteria for ISO 22000. LRQA
is a member of the group which developed this standard (the ISO
22000 working group). So we really understand what the standard is
about.
Our assessments can combine ISO 22000 with other approvals, such as
the British Retail Consortium (BRC), the International Food
Standard (IFS) and
ISO
9001,
ISO 14001 and
OHSAS
18001.
We run training courses that will help you to understand about
implementing ISO 22000 in your company
