We are authorised to act on behalf of various flag
administrations to verify that your vessels comply with
MARPOL,
SOLAS and associated codes. We are also able to issue
type approval certification for marine pollution prevention,
sewage treatment and life-saving equipment, enabling you to mass
produce items without needing to get plans approved every time
Certification to IMO standards
Lloyd's Register undertakes ISM audits on behalf of over 60 flag
administrations. We can help you to develop a safety management
system that complies with the
ISM Code. We have also
developed a practical approach to helping you meet the requirements
of the ISPS Code,
providing an independent assessment and certification service from
six centres of excellence around the globe.
Certification of materials and products
We provide a range of services designed to help you demonstrate
to your clients that you can provide the standard of materials,
machinery or components that they require, including our impartial
Type Approval service. You can obtain independent third-party
verification of your product's conformity with specific standards
or specifications, including those required by the
EC
Marine Equipment Directive (MED) and
Recreational
Craft Directive.
Inspection and certification to ILO standards
We will
provide
inspection and certification services to the shipping industry
in accordance with the standards set by the forthcoming
ILO Maritime Labour Convention, 2006.
We will also support the practical implementation of this new
convention through training, seminars and
a
voluntary assessment programme to suit individual client needs
whether it be for existing ships or new ship
construction.
