At the forefront of ropax ship innovation, we have been
instrumental in the development of increasingly complex vessels
over recent years. We class a market-leading 25% of the ropax
fleet, ranging in size from 500 to 60,000 gt.
We provide unrivalled passenger safety surveys through our
worldwide surveyor network, and foster excellent relationships with
our clients.
What is our experience?
We currently class over 250 ropax ships. Notable ferries and
ro-ro passenger ships completed recently to Lloyd's Register class
include:
- Two aluminium catamarans at FBM Aboitiz Babcock Marine.
- Stena Britannica and Stena Adventurer the first Lloyds Register
classed ferries built in Korea for service in the competitive
European market.
- Visby and Gotland for Rederi AB Gotland these 30,000 gt ferries
are the first built in China to Lloyds Register class for the
European market.
There are currently 17 ropax ships on order to Lloyd's Register
class, including:
- three 750-passenger ships for Norfolk Line.
- a high-speed steel and aluminium monohull for Rederi AB
Gotland.
- two Ice Class 1A ferries for Stena Line.
