Helping you design and build for through-life benefit
ShipRight procedures for design
ShipRight SDA: structural design assessment (SDA) allows you to
incorporate the benefits of our extensive knowledge and experience
of ship structures into your ships design. Sophisticated structural
analysis techniques permit the designer to confirm that appropriate
stress and other acceptance criteria are met, increasing confidence
that the ships structural integrity will be maintained throughout
its service life.
ShipRight FDA: fatigue design assessment (FDA) is applied to
obtain the necessary confidence levels in the fatigue performance
of structural details. It enables identification of fatigue-prone
areas at an early stage in the design process, permitting
modifications to be incorporated in good time. It also helps you to
identify critical locations where construction needs to be more
closely monitored and where attention should be focused during
in-service surveys.
Enhanced scantlings: this optional procedure enables you to
select a defined distribution of additional corrosion margin to be
built into your ship.

Construction monitoring: construction monitoring (CM) gives you
confidence that the identified critical locations on your ship
comply with approved construction and design standards, thus
reducing the risk of structural problems once the ship is in
service. The construction monitoring procedure also identifies
critical structural details for enhanced inspection during
structural survey once in service.
