RulesCalc
Improving the efficiency of the design process
New features for version 3.1
RulesCalc version 3.1 issued in July 2005 contains the following
features in addition to those in version 3:
- implementation of the Common Tanker Rules Draft 2
including: transverse structures; tank sloshing assessment; slot
connections; advanced buckling assessment; and hull girder strength
assessment
- multi-section calculation tools to allow assessment of global
strength, required scantlings, local buckling requirements and
stiffener end connection Fatigue requirements along the parallel
mid-body section
- Lloyd's Register Rules updates for 2004-5 including Finnish
Swedish Ice class rules; and Rudders and Stern Frames.
New features for version 3
RulesCalc version 3 contains several new features including:
- implementation of Common Tanker parametric Rules based on net
thickness
- improved functionality, encompassing working with slots, end
connections, welds, taper requirements and corrugated
bulkheads
- automatic link
to
Rulefinder providing easy access to the Rules (subset provided
as part of the software package)
- a comprehensive set of slot and end connection resources
- stiffener profile resources extended to include L2 and L3
Stiffener types
- multiple function types allowing you to apply different rule
requirements for strakes within a panel
- Whats this? functionality for each field value in RulesCalc to
help ensure you input the correct data
- the ability to configure you working environment and use
multiple monitors with configurable views
- enhanced functionality in transverse section view, including
construction lines, new spline panels, enhanced trim/extend and
better control of snap to functions.
