PAS 55 services
Asset custodians are increasingly being asked questions about
the condition and performance of their assets, and whether they
have a maintenance policy for optimum performance and
longevity.
The publicly available specification (BSI PAS 55) identifies the
core principles of proper asset management. As well as providing a
route map for the introduction of an asset management regime,
certified compliance with the specification also allows operators
to demonstrate effective management to stakeholders.
How we can help
Our services include:
Training - providing senior management with an
overview of the requirements of BSI PAS 55, and for practitioners,
a more detailed course to train staff how to implement the
specification.
Workshops - facilitated discussions designed to
not only convey key aspects of asset management and PAS 55, but
also to promote an internal review of how well the systems in place
align with the principles of PAS 55 - a useful preparation in
advance of independent system verification.
Verification - assess and if compliant, certify,
conformance with the requirements of the specification. Various
stages are offered, including Gap, Preliminary and Certification
assessments.
What are the benefits?
- A PAS 55 based system ensures your business has the key
elements of asset management in place - and in asset intensive
industries such as transportation sustainable asset performance is
essential
- Costs and associated performance are managed in an optimal way
delivering the required operational, safety and business
performance
- Verification supports corporate governance through independent
verification of safety and business critical system compliance and
provides evidence for regulators and other stakeholders that assets
are being appropriately maintained and short and long term issues
and risks are being addressed
Recent projects
- Review of a major Rolling Stock Leasing Company's asset
management arrangements against PAS55 providing feedback on areas
for improvement
- Certification of the Asset Management system of the Kowloon
Canton Railway Corporation in Hong Kong against the requirements of
PAS 55. The assessment provided not only the public evidence of a
strong system, but also a challenging test from which the
organisation gained valuable feedback.
