Lloyd's Register appoints Bill McQueen to head Global HR
Lloyd's Register has appointed Bill McQueen as its new Group HR
Director. Based in London, Bill is responsible for all aspects of
people policy and management within Lloyds Register. His role is to
agree people policy and direction with the Management Team and to
ensure it is effectively implemented throughout the
organisation.

CV
Bill McQueen has held a number of senior positions in HR, most
recently as Group HR Director of MyTravel Group, a leading UK
travel operator based in Manchester, where he developed their
global HR strategy post-restructure in 2004. Prior to that, he was
Senior Vice-President HR for Alstom Power, based in Zurich.
Previously, he spent 11 years with Canon, the Japanese office
equipment and camera company, initially in sales, then marketing
and general management roles, before becoming Head of European HR
for Canon Europe, based in Amsterdam.
Bill is a scientist by academic qualification but also holds a
Diploma in Marketing and an MBA where he majored in strategic
management and HR. In his HR career he has focused on
organisational development but with a keen interest in performance
management and talent development.
Bill originally hails from the north east of England but after
living in many places in the UK and abroad, has settled in
Cheshire. He is a keen gardener when he is at home, though
travelling is another passion.
