The first ever Lloyd's Register Educational Trust (LRET) Marine Workshop was held at the University of Southampton, UK. Bringing together representatives from the five marine research centres that the LRET currently funds (at the universities of Cardiff, Pusan, Seoul, Singapore and Southampton) together with other senior academics and business personnel from the marine world, the Workshop's aims were:

  • to build an LRET marine academic community

  • to share research and educational experiences

  • to disseminate information about research progress to date

  • to consider the future, including greater collaboration.

Workshop proceedings are herewith. Any comments or questions should be addressed to the LRET Director, Michael Franklin: lret@lr.org
