Paul is responsible to the Chief Operating Officer for the implementation of all business plans in the EMEA and for providing effective and efficient cross-business services.
Paul is responsible to the Chief Operating Officer for the implementation of all business plans in the EMEA and for providing effective and efficient cross-business services. He supports the development of best practice in the delivery of services and successful outcomes to clients and in the provision of support services to our businesses. He works to continuously improve the culture of safety and quality across the region against annually agreed targets and ensures compliance with Group governance requirements and local legislation. He works with our businesses to ensure the provision of high quality talent and adequate resources, as well as the maintenance of employee competency through training and development. He also ensures that succession plans are in place for key leadership positions. He works to continually enhance the profile of the Lloyd's Register Group in the EMEA.
Paul joined Lloyd's Register as an ISM Surveyor in the Rotterdam office in 1996. He applied to work for Lloyd's Register upon the recommendation of surveyors he had met while working as a chief officer for Holland America Line. In 1998, he became manager of the regional ISM centre before taking over the role as Business Centre Manager for LRQA in The Netherlands in 2000. He added responsibility for the LRQA Belgium and LRQA Germany offices, in 2004 and 2006 respectively, before becoming manager for the Western Europe Area in 2007. Since 2009 Paul has held the position of EMEA LRQA Business Manager and became Director of Lloyd's Register EMEA in 2010.
Qualifications
Paul holds both nautical and engineering degrees and is a graduate of the Lloyd’s Register Management Development Programme

Paul is married with three children, enjoys swimming, tennis and various other sports
