International codes we can assess against, including ASME and IBR.

We are one of the largest providers of ASME code services in Europe. Below is a list of the codes we can assess against:

  • Pressure equipment codes and standards

As a manufacturer, you may need third party technical assurance to prove to your clients that your assets are complying with certain statutory requirements, regulations and/or standards. We can assess pressure equipment to almost any international code and standard, including ASME, PED, TPED, NBIC and IBR.

  • ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code is the leading internationally accepted construction code defining the requirements for the design, manufacture, inspection and testing of many types of pressure vessels and nuclear power plant components.

  • ISM Code

We carry out ISM certification on behalf of more than 60 flag administrations. Since the Code was introduced, we have been at the forefront of developments in its interpretation and implementation, leading in the provision of innovative and cost-effective certification and support services.

  • ISPS Code

We have played a proactive role in helping the industry to implement the ISPS Code and offers a full range of statutory certification services to help you maintain compliance. We also offer a series of ISPS training courses.

  • MARPOL

Lloyd's Register is authorised to act on behalf of numerous flag administrations to verify that your vessels comply with MARPOL. Our involvement ranges from initial plan approval and on-board surveys to annual and renewal surveys to ensure compliance is maintained. We are also able to issue type approval certification for marine pollution prevention equipment and sewage treatment plants.

  • MARPOL Annex II and the IBC Code

The International Maritime Organisations Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) adopted a revised MARPOL 73/78 Annex II Regulations for the Control of Pollution by Noxious Liquid Substances in Bulk in 2004 and will enter into force 1 January 2007 and will apply to both new and existing ships.
