Contrary to popular belief, Lloyd’s Register and Lloyd’s of London are two completely separate organisations with only the origin of thier names in common. This information sheet provides a brief history of Lloyd's Register (sometimes incorrectly called Lloyds Registry) and outlines its development to the present day global organisation.
