The role
- Conduct relevant activities as agreed in personal training plan with the aim of increasing knowledge and competency in the execution of survey and other related work
- Assist manager in producing deliverables within projects and produce own training within agreed timescales and of appropriate quality
- Understand all LR services and be able to discuss and present the deliverable with the internal clients initially and later external clients and be able to suggest solutions where appropriate
- Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards
- To pursue Initial Professional Development by developing, maintaining, and documenting both technical and non-technical knowledge to support achieving CEng status
- To appreciate the time and value of the work to be undertaken for an external client by understanding and assisting with quotes and survey fee calculations
- To give guidance to other employees, as appropriate, and disseminate information to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application
- To assist in service delivery improvement by communicating internal / external client feedback as appropriate
- Ensure Marine Training Records are kept and that the appropriate authorisations are gained in accordance with your development plan
- Undertake routine administration as required in line with current processes and procedures
What you bring
- A bachelor’s degree or higher from a recognized institution within a relevant field such as Naval Architecture, Ship Science, Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Technical/ Practical Experience in the field (maximum 3 years)
- The ability to use a combination of general and specialist engineering knowledge and understanding to apply existing and emerging technology
- To be able to apply appropriate theoretical and practical methods to design, develop, manufacture, construct, commission, operate and maintain engineering products, processes, systems and services
- To be a good team player with the ability to take own initiative to meet business and personal objectives
- Fluency in the English language, both written and spoken, with ability to communicate effectively internally and externally. Any other language capability would be an advantage.
