Product Certification Team Manager – Eastern Area – Marine & Offshore

What we’re looking for 

This role is responsible to manage the service delivery within the area of product certification to meet specific business objectives and develop the function to meet future business demands to help improve Lloyd’s Register’s competitive position for eastern area.
This role is also responsible to target the key clients and tailor the service to them and strength the cooperation relationship for eastern area.
Technical expertise is required for external communication with key clients and internal communication with technical specialists.

 

The role

Responsible for ensuring that the systems, processes, and procedures are effective and efficient to meet business
requirements for both internal and external clients.
Responsible for technical communication with key clients especially for novel technology.
Responsible for resource planning including budget setting, prioritizing, delegating, and monitoring of activities
and achievements of the function considering commercial and contractual requirements pertinent to delivery.
Responsible for ensuring that the systems, processes, and procedures are effective and efficient to meet business
requirements for both internal and external clients.
Responsible for interpreting the business plans and costing structure into goals and objectives for the TSO
function and changes/developments required for the systems, processes, and procedures.
Responsible for identifying key client and coordinate internal resources to meet client’s expectation and build strong relationship.
Review & analyse data to provide management information/statistics, including the identification and reporting of process failures, to support the overall delivery of processes.
Liaise with other global disciplines and portfolio to ensure consistency in development and delivery of business/commercial services to internal and external clients.
Deal with complex queries and build relationships with internal and external clients, as appropriate, including resolution of support service problems.
Proactively work with global Technical Discipline Managers and Portfolio Managers as one team to achieve key
objectives for the success of the global Marine & Offshore TSO organization.
To lead, manage and develop the team to maintain an effective and competitive service. This includes
recruitment, performance management and training / development.
To mentor/coach team members, as appropriate, to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application.
To manage one group considering Diversity, Equivalence and Inclusive.

 

What you bring

A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by Lloyd’s Register within the relevant field of

engineering or physical science (minimum of two years programme) or Qualifications from a marine or nautical

institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship’s officer.

Membership of an appropriate professional institution.

Working towards achieving Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.

Proficiency in the English Language commensurate with the work.

Working towards achieving Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.

Demonstrable understanding of the Project Management process, gained through experience and training – depends on job.

Years of working experience: 7 years and above in other class or design houses.

Familiar with marine industry standards, regulations, and or lifesaving equipment, firefighting equipment, material property etc.

In depth knowledge of LR procedures for MED and TA service.

Good knowledge of financial and budgetary setting

Proven experience of successfully managing a team
