HollyFrontier Corporation plans to implement Capstone Reliability Based Mechanical Integrity (RBMI) software system at all five of its subsidiaries’ complex refineries over the next three years.
The Capstone RBMI software application gives companies the ability to develop a more efficient and effective equipment maintenance and inspection system that results in on-time testing, reduced risk of equipment failure or chemical release, a safer environment for employees and the community, less downtime and increased cost savings.
“At HollyFrontier, the safety of our employees and our community is our top priority,” said Jim Stump, Senior Vice President Refinery Operations. “The Capstone RBMI program allows us to effectively evaluate the on-going inspection processes in our plants to enhance the safety of people; as well as the safety and reliability of equipment.”
By implementing the Capstone RBMI program, HollyFrontier and its subsidiaries continues their mission that drives continuous improvement in innovation and performance.
“The clients we serve typically use hundreds of pieces of equipment during their daily operations. It is important to ensure that all equipment is undergoing regular maintenance and inspection to enhance safe and proper use, maximise productivity and reduce costly equipment failures,” said Andy Scott, Vice President Americas Operations. “The Capstone RBMI software gives companies, like HollyFrontier, a modernised and more cost effective inspection and maintenance program and is instrumental in helping to reduce the risk of equipment failures that can result in events such as an uncontrolled hazardous chemical release.”
The Capstone RBMI program, offered by Lloyd’s Register Energy, is a fully integrated RBMI inspection software package for upstream, downstream and power industries. Assets include pressure vessels, piping, storage tanks, heat exchangers (including bundles), relief devices, pipelines, rotating equipment and instrumentation. Find out more about RBMI.
