New appointment strengthens our presence in Caspian region

Zhandos Orazaliyev has been appointed General Director and Business Development Manager for Lloyd’s Register in the Caspian region. Zhandos will begin is role on 1 July and will have full responsibility for the management of our operations in the region.

Lloyd’s Register’s position in the Caspian region is significantly growing through work on projects such as the Kashagan project which began in 2005, and providing the independent verification services to the KCO project, which is one of the country's most important oil and gas developments. And its work with the Ministry of Environment on improving technical regulation and development of the approach to greenhouse gas emissions control is important for the region’s future.

“Orazaliyev brings with him a wealth of experience of working in Kazakhstan including great knowledge of the Kazakh government and local clients,” said Chris Walters, Senior Vice-President of Lloyd’s Register’s Compliance Services business. “We are confident that together with this knowledge and experience, and with the close support from our technical experts, he will help to strengthen our position in the Caspian region and reinforce our commercial strategy for growth in this area.”
