Coventry 11 March 2014
Lloyd’s Register Energy has recently carried out a successful certification assessment to the new ISO 55001:2014 Asset Management standard on Anglian Water Services Ltd - one of the first certifications made by Lloyd’s Register using the new global standard.
Bernie Woods, Utilities Senior Assessor who led the Lloyd’s Register Energy assessment team said: “Anglian Water demonstrates a mature asset management system, developed and continually improved over many years. The company also showed clear evidence of meeting the additional requirements of the new global ISO Standard.”
The new asset management standard, which was released on 15 January 2014, replaces PAS 55 as the global standard for asset management systems. Lloyd’s Register was a sponsor and key contributor to the original development of BSI-PAS55:2004 in 2004 and its revision in 2008.
Receiving the certificate, John Green, Business Improvement Manager at Anglian Water Services, said: “As an organisation we’re dependent on our physical assets in the delivery of our services. This certification gives our customers, regulators and shareholders the confidence that we’re using these assets in the most efficient way.”
Anglian Water is one of the 10 water and sewerage supply companies in England and Wales, and is consistently listed in the upper quartile for their performance by Ofwat, the Water Services Regulation Authority. Its stakeholder initiatives such as Discover, Discuss, Decide and Keep It Clear places a priority on engaging stakeholders and its communities where the views and feedback received influence the company’s asset strategy and maintenance plans, which have exceeded the requirements of the new Asset Management standard.
Providing a consistent water supply to its consumers is at the core of Anglian Water’s latest strategy which they call ‘Love Every Drop’; putting water at the heart of a whole new way of living. It centres on the company’s ten ambitious operation goals which are aimed at delivering a sustainable supply of 1.2 billion litres of water every day. Customer satisfaction, no accidents or incidents, environmental focus and carbon emissions reduction are all part of its measurement for success.
The certificates were presented to Anglian Water Services by Peter Glaholm, Lloyd’s Register Energy’s Utilities Sector Manager, on 13 February 2014.
