Hyflux Membrane Manufacturing (S) Pte Ltd. (Hyflux) has chosen Lloyd’s Register Energy as its ASME inspection services provider.
Receiving the official American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) certification, Jessie Tan Sue Suan, Quality Manager of Hyflux Ltd said: “The Lloyd’s Register Energy team responded to our requests both readily and proactively. In particular, their two-day ASME basic training workshop for our engineers played a significant role in ensuring our readiness for the certification audit.”
Manufacturers of boilers and pressure vessels who wish to export to North America are routinely required to comply with the requirements of the ASME code, which defines internationally recognised standards for the design, manufacture, inspection and testing of all kinds of pressure vessels. Each ASME Certificate Holder must choose an Authorised Inspection Agency (AIA), which is then responsible for performing all inspections of ASME pressure equipment. LR Insurance Inc. is the registered AIA of Lloyd’s Register Energy.*
Pascal Coudeville, Senior Vice President of Lloyd’s Register Energy’s Inspection Services commented on its recent milestone win in Singapore: “As part of our ASME service, we provide our clients with initial training to ensure they fully understand the specifics of the code requirements and can be clear on what’s necessary for the certification audits.
“It is this level of detail in the training, along with Lloyd’s Register’s 40 years’ ASME experience, that enables us to support clients like Hyflux through the process ensuring their quality systems meet the ASME requirements.”
Industry forecasts indicate continued steady growth in Asia’s manufacturing sector. Singapore reported 9.8% annualized growth during Q1 plus an estimated total compound annual growth rate of 7.5% across Southeast Asia brought about by regional manufacturers’ ongoing shift in machinery production.
“In response to Asia’s manufacturing boom, we’re seeing an increased demand for the ASME codes to be applied in the region. As a result, the team has strategically deployed its operations to respond to clients’ needs and will continue to update interested manufacturers on the latest ASME code changes.” Coudeville continued.
Lloyd’s Register Energy is the largest provider of ASME services outside of North America.
