Lloyd’s Register Apave IES to provide industry with single-source integrity engineering solutions in the UK
Lloyd's Register and Apave International have formerly set up a joint-venture - Lloyd’s Register Apave IES Limited - in response to client requirements for a single source service provider offering both integrity and inspection management.
Lloyd's Register Apave IES Limited offers a complete package of high quality integrity engineering plus related services such as advanced technology non-destructive testing (NDT), access solutions, minor maintenance and conventional NDT. Industry is now able to benefit from a single turnkey enterprise, which will provide a more effective service delivery approach and reduce client challenges of dealing with multiple interfaces in typical projects.
Lloyd’s Register and Apave International worked together for two years when they were appointed by Nuclear New Build Generation Company (NNB Genco) to support the safe construction of the first phase of the UK’s new nuclear programme, and in developing reliability based mechanical integrity (RBMI) services in France.
“With this newly established joint-venture for the UK market, we are fulfilling our public-benefit mandate and this initiative reinforces our leadership position in integrity engineering,” said Bob Rose, General Manager LR Apave IES Limited. ”The joint-venture Lloyd’s Register Apave IES, combines the skills and strong commitments to integrity engineering assessments with unrivalled experience in Europe’s energy industry, creating a truly independent assurance firm we believe will be in high demand in the UK market place.” Given the skills debate in the industry, this initiative comes at a time when the availability of new resource is a key constraint in the market.
The joint-venture between Lloyd's Register and Apave International will provide a powerful partnership that combines Lloyd's Register’s integrity engineering and management expertise and Apave’s long standing track record in the field of inspection and risk management.
Rose said; “This is a long-term commitment to industry. We are certain that with both our company’s commitment to this joint-venture, the shared vision and efforts of both organisations, Lloyd’s Register Apave IES Limited will be the integrity service provider of choice.”
