Key appointment strengthens consulting and human engineering capability for energy operators
Today Lloyd’s Register Energy announced that Siri Revelsby has been appointed Senior Vice President, Consulting Services, reporting directly to the Energy Director John Wishart.
In her new role Revelsby will take a lead on the Consulting business’s strategic direction, expansion and technical operations.
Revelsby joined Lloyd’s Register Energy in 2010 when the company acquired Scandpower AS where she held the role of President, and was responsible for the Norwegian operation. In her new role, Revelsby will work from the Consulting Services’ head office at Kjeller, Norway, and will lead a global Consulting team of over 450 staff in 16 countries.
The Consulting business of Lloyd’s Register Energy provides independent risk management and engineering dynamics services to a wide range of international clients. It has successfully completed a large number of projects for oil and gas companies, nuclear power entities, regulatory authorities, and companies operating in the chemical, shipping and transport industries.
”As we grow our business in a challenging global economy, Revelsby brings the strategic leadership, business development, and global vision we need to realise our full potential and become the leading risk consulting services provider in Norway and in each of our global strategic markets,” said John Wishart, Energy Director at Lloyd’s Register.
Strategically the Consulting business has a very significant position in the Norwegian continental shelf – a region that is increasingly active as energy exploration and production faces further oil exploration challenges. But its expertise also provides Lloyd’s Register Energy with substantial growth opportunities globally building on its position as one of the leading certification and class societies.
In the nuclear field, the business's services are entirely focused upon civil power generation. Lloyd’s Register Consulting has developed a number of proprietary tools including the industry ‘standard’ safety tool – RiskSpectrum. It is licensed by 80 % of the world’s nuclear power generating companies outside of America.
“Lloyd’s Register Consulting has the vision and ability to adapt and change our business to meet current and emerging client needs across oil and gas, nuclear, marine, transportation, process industry and renewables,” said Revelsby. “In these markets, Lloyd’s Register Consulting’s services have produced industry leading capabilities across our global footprint. Our objective is to deploy these capabilities consistently and cost effectively through our client service and delivery approach.”
Norwegian born and a graduate of the Norwegian University of Technology and Science in Norway, Revelsby has worked in various technical, commercial as well as managerial business roles in leading global energy organisations. She has previously worked for Norsk Hydro ASA before joining Lloyd’s Register Consulting.
Revelsby succeeds the previous CEO of the former Scandpower AS company, Bjørn Inge Bakken, who is taking on a new corporate role in Lloyd’s Register Group. Revelsby is an experienced Chief Operating Officer, speaking Norwegian and other Scandinavian languages, English, and Italian to different levels of fluency.
