13 April 2014
On 2 and 3 April, Lloyd’s Register Consulting hosted the Vibration Days 2014; an annual event organised by The Scandinavian Vibration Society (SVIB).
This year, the event was hosted among astronaut suits, space stations, and the Solar system at the atmospheric Tycho Brahe Planetarium in Copenhagen. Roughly 50 delegates represented major Nordic industries, consultancies, and test equipment suppliers.
The first day saw a series of lectures on advanced topics such as Operational Modal Analysis, Transfer Path Analysis, and machinery dynamics of vertical hydropower units. On the second day, the presentations chiefly focused on structural dynamics, often combining advanced measurements with numerical modelling.
Stefano Morosi from Lloyd's Register Consulting gave the presentation "Predictive Modelling of Complex Grid Connected Electro-Mechanical Systems".
At the event, state-of-the-art equipment and software for advanced noise and vibration measurements were showcased by a number of exhibitors.
