Project scope: Installation and Service Vessel Novel Design

LEANWIND is a 4-year EU funded project that was initiated in December 2013.

The primary LEANWIND objective is to provide cost reductions across the offshore wind farm lifecycle and supply chain through the application of lean principles and the development of state of the art technologies and tools.

The project has a consortium of 31-partners and has been awarded €10 million by the European Commission, with a total value amounting to €15 million.

Lloyd's Register (LR) is leading a package of work on Novel Vessels and Equipment and is pleased to be directly working with 14 key partners. The focus is on the primary vessel types used for both windfarm installation and O&M with the objective of making efficiencies in terms of innovations to existing vessels and designing new vessels concepts tailored specifically to industry requirements.
