Havøygavlen wind park, Arctic Wind AS

Application: Onshore wind park, Norway.
Project scope: Consultancy services, including preparing governing documents.
Client: Arctic Wind AS (part of Statoil ASA).

Havøygavlen wind park, in Måsøy Municipality, Norway, is the world’s northernmost wind power project. It comprises 16 wind turbines, producing approximately 100 GWh of electricity per year (enough to service 5-6,000 households in the region).

We have been assisting the process of updating the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) governing system. Following site modifications, our specialists focused on the HSE plan and emergency response arrangements. The Havøygavlen area faces extreme and challenging climate conditions, with strong winds of over nine metres per second on average, heavy rain and snow. Reviewing the existing governance system was of paramount importance, helping the client to proactively safeguard the safety of personnel, equipment and assets on site.
