Human reliability analysis (HRA) training

The Lloyd's Register Nuclear Academy offers a comprehensive training programme in Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA). The programme includes an introductory course, an advanced course, and a range of specialised PSA training courses e.g. in Level 2 PSA, Human Reliability Analysis, PSA Applications, Seismic PSA, Internal Fire and Flooding PSA, Data Analysis, Analysis of Dependencies and Common Cause Failure (CCF).

The course is tailored for nuclear power plant operators and regulators and is relevant for PSA/HRA practitioners who analyze/review HRA in PSA context. The course can also be interesting for people in other industry in the inclusion of human failures in the risk quantification.

The objectives of this course are to give the participants an understanding of:

  • HRA in context of PSA
  • Basics of HRA
  • HRA applications

Primary topics

  • Overview of HRA in PSA, Recent developments in HRA
  • Categories of Human Failure Events: Pre-initiators, Initiators and Post-initiators
  • HRA Methods, e.g. THERP, ASEP, HEART, SPAR-H and also ATHEANA
  • Hands-on Practice using RiskSpectrum® HRA

Our instructors are chosen on the basis of their areas of expertise, industry experience and proven results.
