Low power and shut down Level 1 PSA, Internal and external hazards, Level 2 and 3 PSA

The purpose of this course is to give participants an introduction to specific PSA topics such as low power and shutdown PSA, internal hazards, external hazards, Level 2 and Level 3 PSA. The course is tailored to individuals with some experience in PSA (Level 1 PSA or working experience). The lectures combine theory with practical examples, and there are exercises using RiskSpectrum® PSA.

Internal hazards PSA, Fire, flooding, drop loads and turbine missiles

External hazards PSA, Seismic, aircraft crash, high winds and External Flooding Analysis

PSA Level 2

  • Interface PSA Level 1 and 2 PSA
  • Plant damage states
  • Accident progression analysis (containment event trees)
  • Containment failure modes and performance
  • Phenomena during severe accidents
  • Release categories and source terms
  • Quantification of large early release frequency (LERF/LRF)

Hands-on practice using RiskSpectrum® PSA

  • Shutdown PSA modelling vs. full power PSA modelling
  • Integrated Level 1 and 2 PSA modelling
  • Internal and external hazards
  • Containment event trees and release categories

Overview of Level 3 PSA

Our instructors are chosen on the basis of their areas of expertise, industry experience and proven results. As specialists in their respective fields, they have confronted and resolved many of the problems you are facing on a daily basis. Training modules combine theory with practical examples from the nuclear industry. Participants will also benefit from interactive sessions and hands-on practice using RiskSpectrum® PSA software.

Costs

You are free to combine any from 1 to all 4 days and the costs are:

If you will book all 4 days then the reduced course fee will be EUR 3690 and includes four days training in Lloyd's Register Office in Sweden. The reduced course fee will be applicable for early registration before January 15th, 2017. Payment is made in advance.

The course fee includes:

  • 7-8 hours training per day
  • Training Course documentation
  • Lunch and refreshments
  • Dinner the first evening

The course is subject to VAT, if applicable.

Registration

Registration is binding. Please email training.consulting@lr.org with the following information:

  • The participants name
  • Affiliation
  • Contact details
  • The name of the course you wish to register (for example Advanced PSA part 2 training in Stockholm)
  • Your invoice address and reference or order number, if any.

Last day of registration is January 15th, 2017.

Cancellation

Cancelling should be notified immediately to us. If the cancellation occurs later than 30 days before the course start the course fee will be charged. The registration can be granted to another person within your company. If so, please notify us so that we can update course certificates etc.

We reserve the right to cancel the training course if less number of participants registers. Such cancellation will be notified to the client within 3 week before the starting of training first day.

Copying of course documentation and software is not allowed. This also applies to usage of educational material by third parties. Exceptions, complete or partial, may take place only after agreement with course coordinators within Lloyd's Register.
