Robert Hansor is the new head of Climate Change and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) services for Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) in Asia.

Based in Beijing, Hansor’s appointment comes as pressure mounts on the world’s biggest economies to reduce their contributions to climate change, and as China firmly establishes itself as the locale for most of the emission-reduction projects under the Kyoto Protocol’s Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).

“Robert joins us at the perfect time, both for LRQA and the wider Asian carbon market, particularly in China. His arrival strengthens our technical expertise and our ability to deliver carbon foot-printing services to the market at a time when service delivery is a global issue due to the volume of work that has emerged,” said Paul Phyall, LRQA’s Senior Vice-President -- Asia. “The advantages of independent CSR verification is also gaining attention among Asia’s more progressive companies, particularly those who need to develop relationships with image-conscious business partners in established markets.”
