Trevor Butler to manage design-review services in Newfoundland and Labrador for the Lloyd’s Register Group
Trevor Butler, Design Services Manager for Energy Compliance Services in the Americas, is now based in Lloyd’s Register North America’s St. John’s office where he will oversee an expanded compliance-design-services team. A naval architect with a range of experience covering both the marine and offshore sectors, Trevor’s placement will support the Lloyd’s Register Group of entities’ efforts to enhance its technical resources in eastern Canada.
With its experience in the provision of expert compliance services, and the ever-increasing number of producing fields in the area, the Lloyd’s Register Group remains committed to providing its clients with locally available classification, certification, verification, and regulatory advisory expertise along Canada’s eastern seaboard. In addition to Trevor’s relocation, the placement of additional local specialists in the St. John’s office will strengthen the organization’s design-review services in the area.
“Having Trevor in our St. John’s office allows us to leverage his experience not only in technical design standards but also statutory and regulatory issues for our clients in eastern Canada,” says David Corbett, Senior Vice President – Energy, Lloyd’s Register North America, Inc. “His presence there will allow us to further improve our client responsiveness, and to better support our clients’ need for comprehensive solutions to asset performance assurance, in the area and around the globe.”
Trevor joined Lloyd's Register North America, Inc. in 2006, and has over 12 years of experience in both the marine and offshore industries, primarily focused on the structures of floating offshore installations. Trevor holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Ocean and Naval Architectural Engineering, specializing in structural analysis, from Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Celebrating 250 years of service
In 1760, 11 men met in Edward Lloyd's coffee house to talk about publishing a list of ships, a register to define their quality and safeguard life and property carried on them. In the years since then we have applied our expertise across the energy and transportation sectors, helping to make the world a safer place. In 2010 we are celebrating 250 years of service and quality and we are looking forward to the new challenges the future brings.
