The opportunity

Asset Management is a growing and ever more meaningful activity in the Energy markets. In an increasingly competitive market, with slow macro-economic developments and an increasing move of investments East, asset owners seek to maximise asset performance and try to reach ‘best-in-class’ in their Group or sector. Plants are gradually reaching end-of life (either technical or economical) and decisions need to be made about life-time extension, modification, new-build, divestment or closure.
Lloyd’s Register Group has extensive Risk and Asset Management expertise and experience in our main sectors Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Power, Marine and Rail. The increased need for better asset performance is seen as an opportunity to further develop of the Asset and Risk Management solutions we offer in the Netherlands, Belgium and western-Europe.
The vision of Lloyd's Register is that Asset Management should be turned into a strategic capability. In capital intensive sectors, the way assets are operated and maintained are key tools to distinguish from competition. Our role is to work with asset owners
- to improve the understanding of their assets and associated risks
- to identify improvement options in the systems that operate and maintain the assets,
and
- to implement changes needed to improve the asset and risk management processes.
