What is our experience?
Over 2000 bulk carriers have been built to Lloyd's Register class and we currently support over 1000 bulk carriers and service 300 bulk carrier fleets around the world through our global network of offices and surveyors. We are also helping owners and shipyards to expand the fleet, building bulk carriers in shipyards around the world, including China, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam.
How can Lloyd's Register help?
At the new building pre-contract stage
Since 2008 Lloyd’s Register has been assisting owners from the concept design phase of bulk carrier projects through to final contract specification discussions with shipyards as part of consultancy where vessels will ultimately be classed to Lloyd’s Register standard. This is tailored to meet the needs of individual clients where they need support to their technical and commercial teams. This is becoming ever more relevant now with the onset of eco friendly and fuel efficient designs and a need to have higher technical specifications to future proof the operation.
At the design stage
Multi-disciplinary teams of surveyors are available in our design support centres to guide you through the wealth of knowledge encapsulated in our Rules, Regulations and Procedures, and to help you achieve regulatory compliance simply and effectively.
During construction
Using the latest project management skills to manage on-site surveys, our teams ensure that the detailed work from the design and plan approval stages is applied during the construction of your ship. In addition, our ShipRight procedures ensure that the surveyors time is focused on the most critical areas of your project.
In service
Our global network of exclusive surveyors gives you access to assistance where and when you need it, helping you to solve technical problems and demonstrate continuing regulatory compliance. In addition, our ClassDirect Live service and technical publications help you to keep up-to-date with current maritime issues and legislation, as well as your ships survey status.
