These guidance notes provide advice to shipowners and operators who are preparing to install ballast water treatment systems on their ships. They have been developed as a complement to the Lloyd’s Register Ballast Water Treatment Technology guide. The guidance reflects the current status of the IMO regulations and provides some recommendations that will help owners prepare their ships and ensure that they remain compliant.
