We have signed an agreement with Magnox Ltd which will pave the way for the transfer of qualified personnel between our two leading organisations of the civil nuclear sector.

The new agreement will support the strategic recruitment needs of the expansion-minded members of the Lloyd's Register Group, while allowing Magnox to transition its workforce from power generation to the various decommissioning projects it has on the horizon.

"This agreement and the transfer of staff will help to maintain the UK's nuclear skills base and significantly enhance our contribution to assuring the safety of the world's civil nuclear industry," said Prof. Richard Clegg, Lloyd's Register's Nuclear Director. "Society's historic commitment to carbon-based fuels continues to come under close scrutiny, spurring demand for cleaner fuels such as nuclear power, which is the only carbon-alternate fuel source that is mature enough to deliver our growing demand for base-load electricity. Our alliance with Magnox will help to ensure that we will continue to have the safety engineers we need to support our clients' global growth ambitions."
