LRQA awarded two contracts with "Vodafone Egypt"

Vodafone Egypt achieve the occupational health & safety standard OHSAS 18001 certification and further work with LRQA to achieve the Information Security system standard ISO 27001.

LRQA has been awarded two contracts with "Vodafone Egypt" the first is the Certification for their Occupational Health & Safety system to the OHSAS 18001: 2007 and the second is the Certification of their Information Security system to the ISO 27001: 2007 for their international call centres, known as Vodafone International Services.

The OHSAS Certification process has been successfully accomplished and Vodafone Egypt has been certified to the international standard OHSAS 18001: 2007.

The scope of certification of their certification is "Administration buildings, switchgears and retail stores related to the provision of mobile network services within Egypt".

"It is very important for Vodafone Egypt to be certified to the Occupational Health & Safety International Standard OHSAS 1800. It reflects the commitment of Vodafone to provide a safe environment to all its employees, clients, suppliers & subcontractors", Said Hatem Doweidar, CEO of Vodafone Egypt. "We are proud to be certified by LRQA, the most internationally recognized certification body"; he added.

The OHSAS certificate was officially presented to Mr. Hatem Doweidar, CEO of Vodafone Egypt, at their Head Office in Smart Village, Cairo, on 04 November 2010 by Mr. Basem Obaid; LRQA Manager, Middle East & Africa.

The event was attended by Amr Hamad; LRQA Business Manager, Egypt & North Africa and Mohamed Saif; LRQA Business Development Manager, Egypt & North Africa from the LRQA Egypt team and Dalia Elgezery, HR Director; Wael Aboul Nour, HR Reward & Quality Head of Dept.; Osama Mostafa, H&S Senior Supervisor and Eman Gamal, H&S Senior Specialist from Vodafone Egypt.
