Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) has been selected by the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) to act as the sole auditor of its DataSeal standard, which promotes and enhances data security in the marketing industry.

DataSeal is available to DMA members and related participating trade associations such as the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising, Institute of Promotional Marketing and the ISBA, and it is appropriate for data-owners, users or suppliers.

“All industry research points to the fact that consumers will only share their data with brands they trust to keep it secure," said Richard Evans, the DMA's Compliance & Legal Services Manager. "We developed DataSeal to provide direct marketers with a clear statement that they meet the highest standards of security in collecting, keeping and using consumer data. Becoming DataSeal certified should be a priority for any company that relies on data for their marketing."

“We chose LRQA because their services are the perfect fit for ensuring that DataSeal remains a respected standard for those companies that are committed to data security,” Evans said.
