Lloyd’s Register Energy chosen by subsidiaries of HollyFrontier based on its expertise in quality risk-based inspection and maintenance solutions that increase uptime efficiency and reduce frequency of inspections.
We have been awarded a further agreement by subsidiaries of HollyFrontier Corporation (NYSE: HFC) for the implementation of its maintenance and inspection software solution, Reliability Based Mechanical Integrity (RBMI) at the Navajo Refinery, located in Artesia, New Mexico.
This new award follows a 10 year relationship which began with the implementation of RBMI at the El Dorado Refinery. Since then, the other refineries owned by subsidiaries of HollyFrontier have committed to moving forward with us to implement RBMI at all their sites.
RBMI is preceded by its reputation as an industry leading risk-based inspection (RBI) software package that enhances safety, maximises productivity and reduces costly equipment failures. The solution has provided numerous operators across the upstream, downstream and power industries with the ability to optimize maintenance and inspection regimes.
“At HollyFrontier, safety is our top priority, as is our commitment to continually enhancing the reliability of our equipment and operations across all of our sites”, says Jim Stump, Senior Vice President, Refining. “The implementation of RBMI at the Navajo Refinery marks our fifth refinery to begin implementing the RBMI solution. The final implementation project will be the west half of our Tulsa Refinery. RBMI has proven to be instrumental in helping to reduce the risk of unexpected equipment failures.”
The software has already demonstrated significant value for HollyFrontier. HollyFrontier’s subsidiaries have proactively detected and mitigated equipment integrity threats by utilizing the software.
Andy Scott, Vice President Asset Integrity Americas, Lloyd’s Register Energy, said: “Lloyd’s Register Energy’s RBMI software gives companies, like HollyFrontier, a modernized and more cost effective inspection and maintenance program and is instrumental in helping to reduce the risk of equipment failures that can result in events such as an uncontrolled hazardous chemical release.”
Suitable for all equipment types, RBMI manages each step of a risk-based inspection and maintenance programme. It is an ideal tool for pressure vessels, piping, storage tanks, heat exchangers (including bundles), relief devices, subsea structures, pipeline, rotating, instrumentation, and user configurable assets.
“We are proud to be working with HollyFrontier’s subsidiaries to implement our innovative tool in to their facilities, and it shows the enthusiasm of energy companies in America wanting to reduce risk and increase efficiency in their operations.”
Our RBMI tool is API compliant and meets all API 580 recommended practice requirements for RBI including inspection data management. RBMI also meets the latest API Standards 510 and 570 requirements.
