Launched in 2005 by the British Potato Council (BPC), the Safe Haven Farm Assurance Scheme was developed to support potato farmers within the UK. Working alongside our team at Lloyd’s Register, they aim to safeguard the future of Britain’s potato industry. Becoming a member of the scheme helps farmers identify and prevent threats to the production cycle.

What are the benefits?

Comprehensive support

Membership assesses areas such as full seed stock traceability, storage, safety, machinery and transportation. This is supported by year-round technical guidance and combines easily with existing seed classification schemes and phytosanitary (plant product) controls.

Threat prevention

Receive support in remedying threats to crops. This includes supporting in fighting and preventing ring rot, brown rot, blackleg, Dicketa spp, in addition to non-indigenous pests and diseases.
