The course leads to the award of National General Certificate and is delivered by Oaktree Management and Training.

You will learn...

  • Part A1: The management of safety
  • Part A2: The identification and control of hazards
  • Part B: The practical assessment.

Course length

NEBOSH General Certificate is a 10 day course, plus a further 2 days for Revision / Exam. Delivered in day release or block.

The duration of study for the National General Certificate is a minimum of 87 hours plus private study and background reading.

Assessment is by an end examination comprising two written papers (Papers A1 and A2) and a practical assessment (Part B). The practical assessment consists of carrying out a safety inspection of a workplace and preparing a management report.

The examination is held nationally four times a year and comprises two 2-hour written papers (Papers A1 and A2) and a practical assessment (Part B). Some centres may also offer “local” examinations, set and marked by NEBOSH, but on a date of their choice. Each written paper consists of one “long-answer” and ten “short-answer” questions. All questions are compulsory. The practical assessment is arranged by the centre, marked by our staff and moderated by NEBOSH.
