Overview
The ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) is an internationally recognised standard for the design, manufacture, inspection and testing of all kinds of pressure vessels. Inside of North America, the ASME Code is generally required for many types of pressure vessels and equipment. Outside North America, the ASME Code is recognised as a leading global standard.
To apply the ASME stamp to a piece of equipment, a manufacturer must first be approved by ASME to perform the work. This is done along with an Authorised Inspection Agency. Click here to learn more about this process.
ASME Code symbol stamps are applied to item nameplates by ASME approved manufacturers. ASME Data Reports are generated to identify that an approved manufacturer has carried out the work. An Authorised Inspector carries out inspection during the manufacturing process and countersigns these Data Reports.
