Migrating to ISO 45001
In response to the challenges posed by COVID-19, the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) has extended the migration deadline for ISO 45001 certification. Existing OHSAS 18001 certificates can now be extended for up to six months. This means that the period for migrating accredited certifications from OHSAS 18001:2007 to ISO 45001:2018 has been extended to September 2021.
Migrating your OHSAS 18001 approval to ISO 45001 may seem overwhelming. But with a range of services on-site and online, we can help you through the migration process, by helping you understand the standard; what it means for you and your organisation; and how to prepare for the audit – giving you the support you need to ease your journey towards compliance.
Our ISO 45001 training courses will prepare and upskill your management system team and auditors – providing the skills needed to implement and maintain your system to meet the requirements of the new standard.
All courses are available as public courses or can be tailored to suit your organisation’s needs. In addition, training can be delivered as eLearning or in a virtual classroom environment.
Before migrating, you can work with an LR auditor to identify critical or high-risk areas of your Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS), alongside specific vulnerabilities.
This can either be delivered on-site or remotely and helps determine the scope of your ISO 45001 management system, giving you the flexibility to focus on areas critical to your operations.
The migration audit can be undertaken at any time before the end of the migration period, which is currently September 2021. It can be carried out as a separate audit or added to a scheduled activity such as a surveillance or certificate renewal audit.
Using secure remote technology, we can usually deliver the migration audit remotely but in some cases, it may be necessary to carry out an on-site audit. Your auditor can discuss the options available to you and recommend the best solution.
